Award winning broadcaster and presenter Josie d’Arby started her TV career at the age of 14 when she was chosen as a junior reporter for the ITV1 kids show Splash, since then she has gone on to be trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and as part of the BBC Broadcast Journalism course plus she has been a worthy winner of a Royal Television Society Award.
A truly versatile talent, Josie has worked extensively in some of TV’s best loved shows, from Top of the Pops to the Big Breakfast and has also made countless documentary programmes as well as being cast in several TV Dramas and comedy series. Josie’s love of music is evident too, in much of what she has done most recently for the BBC she has hosted many musical talent contests, including: Choir of the Year, Singer of the World and ‘The Voice of musical theatre’.
Josie is excited to be working with Time2Shine, “growing up in the Church, it goes without saying that I love to see people getting their praise on!!! Gospel music has a very important role to play in society and communities now, more than ever. Music that can lift and stir you in such a powerful and spiritual way is to be celebrated, gospel music can take you to the most humble place one moment and then have you dancing down the aisles in the next, I love it.
“Time2Shine is going to be brilliant because it’s going to be all about the voice!!! I know Britain has a lot of gospel talent out there, be they singers or rappers and I can’t wait to start to find them…it will be great to get out there and meet the gospel stars of tomorrow and help give their voices the platform and attention they deserve.”
